Half a century of the same front door

The hospital opened in 1976. Dr Hendrik Meyer bought it in 1985, and the Meyer family still runs it.

Paul Smit Road meets 11th Avenue, and an animal hospital opens on the corner. It has not moved since.

The Meyers arrive

Dr Hendrik Meyer buys the practice

Three years after qualifying at Pretoria, Dr Hendrik Meyer takes the practice on. His family still runs it, with a team of about five vets.

Consults through to orthopaedic surgery, with the laboratory and the x-ray in the same building.
